Hello I'm Nikki, the proud owner of Happy
Hounds which was established in 2009. Making the leap into dog grooming was a mid-life career change, and by far the best decision I made.
My dedication to animals began long before Happy Hounds. Since 1999 I have volunteered for several rescue charities and devoted many years to animal care. As a family we have opened our hearts and home to many rescued animals - adopting dogs, cats and rabbits ..... and we've fostered many more along the way. We currently share our lives with two beloved dogs, Brendan a mixed breed who we adopted in 2014, and Minky an elderly cross breed who joined our family 2021. Invariably there is a foster dog (or two) sharing our sofa too - and without fail they all bring joy and make us smile every day!
Grooming is not just about appearance - it's a vital part of your dog's overall health and wellbeing. Dogs are
unique characters with individual needs, and my aim is to deliver a high
quality tailored service to every customer, ensuring each dog enjoys it’s
grooming experience in a calm, relaxed and friendly environment. I only ever groom one dog at a time giving them my undivided care and attention. Every pet is treated as though it is my own with love, patience and understanding.
I am fully insured and have been trained in every aspect
of grooming, with both pedigree and mixed breeds. It's hard work, not very glamourous on occasions ..... and yes sometimes I probably smell like a dirty old dog at the end of the day! But I love what I do and it's incredibly satisfying seeing a happy, freshly groomed pup leave my care.
There are no Monday blues at Happy Hounds - only wagging tails and happy hearts!
